Ella Bailey Villani
Biography
Ella Villani has been writing and performing since they were very little. Currently they are working towards their BFA in Musical Theatre at Wilkes University. They are expected to graduate in May 2027 with a minor in dance.
During their senior year of high school (22-23), they finally decided to learn how to properly compose, and wrote their first one-act musical, 'Time Flies By' within the year. They learned how to compose for eight part harmony, piano, flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, and glockenspiel, and taught themself the ukulele for the project. They also made their professional theatre debut at a regional theatre nearby.
In 2024, they decided to focus on getting better at writing lyrics & solos, and wrote several one-off songs, and also worked on a second draft of Time Flies By. Along with this, Ella joined The Dunwich Dolls Theatre Collective, and performed in their second professional show.
This past year (2025), Ella had the opportunity to perform at The Green Room 42 in New York in August. They wrote 19 songs within 3 months (with help from a few others), and was joined by a cast of 17 other people, which included their little cousin on the Flute. The show was a song cycle titled 'Firsts' (themed around the firsts in life). Immediately after that, they started writing their next show, 'INDIGO', which focuses on the harmful effects of generative AI and how they impact writers and artists today. The show was performed at The Green Room 42 on December 28. It contains 10 songs, a full script, 7 part harmony, piano, violin, viola, cello, and a cast of 8. They wrote the entire show themself within 4 months, and performed as one of the two leads (InDiGO).
So far in 2026, they started the year off strong in January by having their music featured & also performing in The Dunwich Doll's concert, 'Dunwich Originals".
