Biography
Known for her sense of humor, creative performances, and entertaining arrangements, NYC-based musician Liz Rosa maintains a busy schedule as a multi-instrumentalist, teaching artist, music director, and composer/arranger. With an international reach, she has performed in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands, and her compositions and arrangements have been heard across the United States and Britain. She has performed with renowned artists across various styles, including RZA, Béla Fleck, Renée Fleming, Alexander Markov, and Jerry Weldon. Liz can be heard on recordings such as the soundtrack for Star Trek Continues, Eastern Wind Symphony's 2018 album Elements, the 2024 short film Chuck and Fern, the Five Nights at Freddy's 10th Anniversary session, and Sam Adler’s Concerto for Guitar with Eastman Philharmonia. As an artist, she strives to bridge the worlds of classical instruments and popular music, creating a fun and engaging experience for modern audiences.
Liz continues to evolve as an artist, constantly seeking new ways to connect with her audience and challenge herself musically. Her dedication and ability to blend a variety of musical styles have made her a unique figure in contemporary music. Liz regularly performs with the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra, the Garden State Symphonic Band, and the Double Entendre Music Ensemble. As a jazz bassoonist and vocalist, she is frequently featured with the Dennis Alan Trio at the Bread N Wine Cafe in Manhattan. Since 2015, she has served as principal bassoonist with the Eastern Wind Symphony and in 2019 was the founding bassoonist of the wind quintet Quinception. Her versatility also extends to commercial studio work in New York City, where she contributes to a wide range of recording projects. With her diverse experience and adaptability, Liz has earned a reputation as a highly skilled and versatile musician.

As the executive producer and host of the podcast “Once Upon a Band Geek,” she delves into various performing arts topics, utilizing personal and guest anecdotes to highlight different career paths in the arts. Liz holds a Master of Arts in Music and Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University (2022) and a Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance and Music Education from the Eastman School of Music (2017). Outside of her musical endeavors, she enjoys late-night television, exploring NYC coffee shops, and indulging in gourmet cheese.
