Diane Perry
She/Her
Biography
Hailed as “madly original” by New Jersey Jazz Magazine, Diane Perry is a Juilliard-trained violinist and multi-talented singer-songwriter whose music is “playful, mischievous, and innocent all at once," As a violinist she has performed and recorded broadway shows, orchestral performances, and solo recitals across the eastern seaboard and beyond. As a singer-songwriter, she is a winner of two official showcases from FAI regionals, (NERFA and FARM) and as a jazz and side musician she has also performed and recorded with many greats, including Grammy winners like Tom Paxton, Britt Woodman, Arturo O’Farrill, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, and many others. Her concerts span, and sometimes indelibly combine, genres like jazz, classical, folk, musical theater, latin, and funk. Audiences have been moved to tears by her thought-provoking and original ballads, and to laughter by her quirky uptempo numbers. Her “derangements,” (her own unique transformations of standards) the bravura turns that highlight her soaring and passionate violin style, and her clean and swinging vocals are why Diane Perry is called “a joy to hear.”
