DEBRA BARSHA won the Jonathan Larson Award for the score to Radiant Baby, (Public Theater) directed by George C. Wolfe. This past June, Radiant Baby was produced by TOHO and performed at Theatre Creation in Japan. Composer credits: A Taste Of Things To Come (Bucks County Playhouse/ The York Theatre), Boy Meets Girl (NY Theatre Barn), The Most Miserable Christmas Tree (NCT), Songs From an Unmade Bed (NYTW), Cookin’! (Amas), Sophie (JRT), NBC’s Policewoman Centerfold soundtrack, One-woman shows: Go To Your Womb and A Womb With a View (CAP21/Cherry Lane). Barsha originated roles and was the music director for the original off-Broadway companies of both Tony ‘N’ Tina’s Wedding and Swingtime Canteen. Her all-female musical A Taste Of Things To Come (co-written with Hollye Levin), was produced off-Broadway at the York Theatre and is published by Concord Theatricals. Debra was the associate conductor for Broadway’s Jersey Boys. She also was the associate conductor for Broadway’s Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. Currently: Rehearsal pianist/Key 1 sub at Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
