Biography
Chris Fiol (they/them) is a Madison-based tuba player and recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with an MM in Tuba Performance.
As a performer, they have had numerous opportunities playing with various orchestral groups, concert bands, and brass chamber ensembles. When they are not performing or rehearsing, they are active in arranging and transcribing music, as well as volunteering with various music organizations including the Tuba-Euphonium Social Justice Initiative and International Jazz Day.
Chris began their undergraduate studies at James Madison University, but then transferred and completed their degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. They studied with Justin Worley and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music performance. They recently finished their MM at UW-Madison and studied with Tom Curry.
