Chelsea Jillian Rousselot-Suarez
Biography
Chelsea Rousselot-Suarez is a writer, performer, and educator based in Los Angeles, California. A versatile performer, she has appeared on stage in musical theatre, ballet, opera, circus, music venues, and improv comedy productions. Chelsea has been composing music for most of her life; from little melodies on the piano as a little girl to composing music for film, the stage, and music venues as an adult. Chelsea received her Bachelors in Music Education from Chapman University’s Conservatory of Music and her Masters in Elementary Education from National University. In 2019, she completed the Sketch Writing Program at Second City, Hollywood where she helped write and produce a show called Passing Class: Not Silent, Still Deadly. Chelsea was awarded Best Original Score by LA Shorts for her work on Antigone: An Aerial Film Dance. In addition to writing and performing, Chelsea has been teaching children of all ages for the past 19 years in various capacities including musical direction, musical theatre, choral singing, guitar, rock ensemble, and elementary core subjects. She is co-host of the It’s a True Story Podcast. In 2023, she participated in New Musicals Inc’s 15-Minute Musical Festival, where she wrote The Singer with lyricist, Adriana Roze.
