Biography

Becky grew up in New Orleans and attended NOCCA during high school. She began gigging professionally at age 16 by playing various instruments in the pits of community theaters which led to her lifelong love of playing for musicals. For most of the last 32 years, Becky has averaged playing 10-14 musical productions a year on upright & electric bass, and she has been a band director & jazz band director to 200+ 5th & 6th grade kids a year for the last 22 years. She teaches bass and guitar lessons privately via Zoom. She has also served as Musical Director for two shows and has been a guest conductor for local district honor bands on multiple occasions. She has performed with the Pensacola Symphony & the Gulf Coast Symphony, as well as for Weird Al's "Strings Attached" tour in New Orleans.

Becky has performed for numerous New Orleans area community theaters, high school theaters, college theaters, and regional theaters such as Jefferson Performing Arts Society, Southern Repertory Theater, & Tulane Summer Lyric Theater. National Broadway tours at the Saenger & the Mahalia Jackson Theaters include 42ND STREET (2004), THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (2005), THE COLOR PURPLE (2009), WICKED (2023), & MRS. DOUBTFIRE (2024). She considers her 21-show stint with WICKED to be her greatest professional accomplishment thus far as she was brought in as an emergency bass chair replacement with less than 24 hours notice to learn the entire show.

Becky holds a Bachelor's in Instrumental Music Education from Loyola University as well as a Master's in String Bass Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. She resides in Covington, LA & primarily plays Sadowsky electric basses.
