Biography

Arianna Rose is a professional musical theatre writer, playwright, instructor, dramaturg and director. The recipient of the MAC Song of the Year Award, the York Theatre NEO Award, and various best play/playwright awards from Theatre Odyssey, Tree City Playhouse, 4th Street Theatre, Mixing It Up Productions, the Know Theatre, Studio 1 Theatre, Third Citizen Theatre Company, South Baldwin Theatre and Clocktower Theatre Company, her plays and musicals have been presented in 35 states, Washington D.C., and ten countries to date. She is a four-time winner of Theatre Lab’s New Works Festival competition, a three-time winner of Theatre Three’s One-Act Play Festival and SCDW's Play Festival, and a two-time winner for Theatre Odyssey’s Ten-Minute Play Festival and Midnight Sun Theatre's Serial Bowl. She is a two-time finalist for the Edward Kleban Lyricist and Librettist Awards, one of three finalists for the 2020 Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing in the UK, and a top ten finalist for the Charles M. Getchell New Play Contest 2021. 2022 participant, Kennedy Center Playwrights Intensive and William Inge Play Festival Playlab.

Arianna was one of four playwrights selected for the 2019-2021 Miami-Dade County Council of Cultural Affairs Playwright Development Program, moderated by Kia Corthron. Publications include Smith & Kraus Best Ten-Minute Plays 2021, Applause Books “Best New Monologue Anthologies “ 2019 and 2020, and Smith & Kraus Best Stage Monologues 2023 in both the men and women's editions. She has a play and monologue being published in the upcoming Smith & Kraus Best Ten-Minute Plays and Best Women Monologues Anthologies 2024.

M.F.A., NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program; B.A. in Theatre from Bucknell University; BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop. A proud member of ASCAP, Local 802, SEIU, New Play Exchange, The South Florida Theatre League, and the Dramatists Guild of America, where she serves as a Regional Ambassador.
