Anneliesa Trethewey

Biography

Anneliesa Trethewey is a versatile pianist who graduated from the Manhattan School of Music (MSM) in New York City with a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano for vocals. During her classical piano training at MSM, she was privately taught by Thomas Muraco who previously worked with Leonard Bernstein.

Anneliesa is currently a collaborative pianist for vocal classes/lessons at Barnard College and Columbia University. She is the collaborative pianist for the Musical Theater Performance Classes at the Manhattan School of Music. She assists the vocal faculty in vocal coaching, music arranging and music direction. She presents performance grade material for MT singers to polish their songs in vocal coaching and music direction. Anneliesa has studied jazz classes at The Juilliard School’s evening division. She has a professional focus in solo improvisation and arranging piano accompaniments suitable for jazz singers.
Anneliesa has her own private piano studio and also teaches at the prestigious Joyous School. Their primary goal is to prepare piano students at an advanced entry level to the Carnegie Hall stage. Anneliesa is proud to be an artist who helps and guides students to find their full potential as a pianist.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Anneliesa strives to be an active participant in New York City’s arts community. She has music directed and performed musical theater shows which include Peter and the Star Catcher, Oklahoma, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Shrek. She also performs at local cabaret venues in New York City such as Don't Tell Mama. Anneliesa is proud to be an artist who collaborates well and gets the job done. She is a dedicated pianist who performs high quality performances and loves to collaborate with those who love and appreciate music.
