Alecia Baxter

Alecia Baxter

Biography

A Bay-area born, Chicago-raised librettist, performer, screenwriter and administrator based in New York City. Alecia graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor in Business Administration. She spent much of her career leading marketing and business development teams and writing proposals for major capital programs at theaters, performing arts spaces, and museums. After moving to Los Angeles to work for a digital media company, she realized she wanted to spend the rest of her career storytelling and bringing compelling stories to life. On her journey to do so, she studied and performed Improv at Second City; supported front of house and box office operations for Berkeley Repertory Theater; launched a blog where she captures stories via song; and moved to New York to study musical theater writing full-time. She most recently served as House Manager for the NYU Cycle 32 Cabaret at The Public Theater; Light Board Operator for the AMERICAN OPERA PROJECT x NYU OPERA LAB performances; and Stage Manager for a new musical called THE ANGEL MAKERS MUSICAL. Alecia is an MFA Candidate in NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (‘24).
