Biography
Aero Roper is a flutist with an expansive musical style, ranging from traditional chamber and orchestral repertoire to contemporary. They currently perform with the New Conductor's Orchestra, the Queer Urban Orchestra, and act as the music librarian for PROTESTRA. They graduated from New York University with a Bachelor's degree in Flute Performance studying under Soo-Kyung Park. While attending, Aero served as the second flute for the New York University Symphony Orchestra and performed in various chamber ensembles, contemporary music ensembles, and was a featured soloist for the production of Orfeo ed Euridice. Aero has received many honors including first place in the Elite International Music Competition in 2019, third place in the New York International Music Concours in 2021, and was featured in a recorded arrangement of the New York University Alma Mater performed by the NYU Orchestra in 2022. Additionally, they were a finalist of the Honors Performance Series Young Adult Orchestra and had the honor of performing at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria.
