Biography

Abigail Nordan majors in Musical Studies and Psychology at Oberlin College, where she has worked as a Music Director for the college's largest student-run theater organization. She has music-directed and conducted productions of "The Theory of Relativity", "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee", and "13!". Her work has included teaching and coaching both vocal and instrumental repertoire, conducting, piano conducting, and arranging. She also directed and produced her original play, "Portal", based on the Valve Co. video games by the same name.

Currently, Abigail is the Vocal Director and rehearsal pianist at Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, OH for their spring production of Bye Bye Birdie. She recently finished playing the Keyboard II part in the debut of an original musical at Oberlin College called All in Your Mind. She sings as an alto with the Cleveland Video Game Symphony.

Abigail combines her rigorous background in music theory with her passion for music's transformative social power to create invigorating rehearsal environments, cohesive musical teams, and thought-provoking sound.

Outside of Oberlin, Abigail works as a Vocal and Keyboard Instructor at her local Guitar Center. She grew up singing in the Boston Children's Chorus (12 years) and currently sings with the Oberlin College Choir and Oberlin Gospel Choir. Her solo and ensemble performances have brought her from Symphony Hall to Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House, and every odd place in between! Her musical projects are grounded in her belief that music and social justice are neither separate arts nor practices, and she strives to engage with projects that emphasize the power and joy of community.
