Biography
Desiree Glazier-Nazro is a diverse percussionist, contractor, studio musician and band leader. Specializing in musical theater and star attraction acts, she has had the opportunity to perform dozens of shows and has had the privilege of performing with artists such as The Beach Boys, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Bennett, Hugh Jackman and Andy Williams. Desiree is also a regular performer with orchestras and chamber groups in the Boston area ranging from large video game orchestras to period instrument orchestras such as Boston Baroque and Handel and Haydn Society. Using all her organizational skills, Desiree is the local contractor for The Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston.
Desiree is co-founder of both Steel Rhythm and Rhythmic Waves Recording. Steel Rhythm, founded in 2006, is a steel drum band with a global following streaming on all platforms and playing prestigious venues such as Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, and Boston's and Cape Cod's finest resorts. Steel Rhythm’s YouTube Channel has over 9 million views and over 200K monthly listeners on Pandora. Rhythmic Waves Recording is their newly built, custom recording studio specializing in drum and percussion overdubs.
Desiree is an active member of Local 9-535, and has served on the Election Committee and the Resolution Committee and is also a member of Local 802. She holds degrees from The Hartt School of Music and The Boston Conservatory both in Percussion Performance. In addition to music, she loves being outside in the mountains or near the water and with friends and family.
