Biography

Priscilla Tam (she/her) is a third-year undergraduate pursuing a B.M. in Violin Performance with a BEMT minor. She studies violin under the direction of Dr. Cyrus Beroukhim and Giora Schmidt. At NYU, she has served as Concertmaster simultaneously of the symphonic NYU Orchestra, Broadway Orchestra, and Contemporary Music Ensemble. She also is a tutor for Steinhardt’s Music Theory department and the Strings Studies Assistant.

Outside of NYU, Priscilla has recorded tracks for artists like CESTARI, played shows with RAEGAN’s girl band, and performed for musical productions for companies like Tisch New Theatre. As a violinist–and aspiring viola doubler–who enjoys playing for musical theater, she served as Concertmaster for the College Light Opera Company’s nine shows (sixty-six performances) during their Summer 2023 season. This upcoming summer, she will be in the pit for Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre’s productions of Fiddler on the Roof and The Wizard of Oz.
