Shannon van der Reck

Biography

Shannon van der Reck is a multi-instrumentalist from San Diego, CA with a background in classical percussion. She is an active performer, arranger and composer in Minneapolis, MN in a variety of outlets from film to musical theatre. Her composition work is heavily influenced by minimalism and avant-garde artists; feeling that these stylistic trends grew from the addition of serious percussive elements to the orchestra. She is a percussionist, bassist and modular synthesist.

She has notably worked with the La Jolla Symphony, McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ, The History Theatre of St. Paul, Collide Theatrical, Mixed Blood Theater, The Jungle Theatre, Mellotron of Stockholm and the Universities of San Diego and Minnesota.
