Biography

SARAH ROSE is an award-winning musical theatre artist working in New York and Vancouver. Sarah recently made her Off Broadway debut as associate director responsible for music supervision and vocal direction for VERY MERRY. Next, Sarah will join the artistic team at Stagedoor Manor as a Music Director.

A Certified Instructor with the Institute for Vocal Advancement, Sarah serves as voice coach for productions and maintains a private studio. Sarah is also a classical pianist and Certified Teacher with The Royal Conservatory, and was a featured performer in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Day of Music.

Sarah is a fervent supporter of new works, and currently developing FALL RISK with Beth Falcone (Drama Desk Award Nominee and Kleban Prize Winner) and Nicole Kohr (three-time Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Award Winner), and STATISTICS by Shreya Jha (Canada Council for the Arts Winner). Previously, Sarah directed and developed new works including TWENTYSOMETHING (Playwrights Guild of Canada Emerging Playwright Award Runner-Up), ONWARD AND UP (Brave New Play Rites), and LOST IN TWINE (Vancouver Fringe ONSITE). Sarah has also directed plays, including DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA (BroadwayWorld Vancouver Awards for Best Play and Best Director), HAPPY DAYS, and LASCIVIOUS SOMETHING. Sarah serves as a mentor for professional music theatre creators with the Playwrights Guild of Canada Mentorship Program.

An alumnae of the prestigious National Theater Institute Advanced Directing program, Sarah was awarded the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center Scholarship. Sarah also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia.
