Biography
Rebecca Hart is a performer & writer based in NYC. Lyrics/libretto: IRON JOHN: an american ghost story (NAMT 2019, Theatreworks Silicon Valley New Works, Tisch/NSB Workshop, O'Neill Incubator Residency, Richard Rodgers Award Finalist, Relentless Award Honorable Mention); 'the barren(s)' (Kennedy Center/American Opera Initiative); 'How To Read Tarot Cards' (original solo show, upcoming, The Cell Theatre Commission/Residency).
Music: She is the lead singer & songwriter for the 5-piece folkrock outfit Rebecca Hart & the Wrong Band (Rockwood Music Hall regulars, Irish Arts Center, Cutting Room, Porch Stomp, Brooklyn Americana Fest, many other venues in the US and in Ireland. 2018 album 'The Magician's Daughter', produced by Ben Sollee, avail streaming.
Acting: raised by theatre folks and onstage by the time she was 9 months old. Recent work: 'SWEAT' (Public Theater National Tour); 'The Revolutionists' ( CT Critics Circle Award ), 'Midsummer a play w songs' (CT Critics Circle Best Actress Nomination); Humana Festivals 2011 & 2013, Paramount Pictures 'Young Adult'; Wendell & the Lemon (Slam Dance Film Fest), many regional shows.
