Biography
MEGUMI KATAYAMA is a Sound Designer, Sound Artist, and Composer based in NYC.
Her sound design credits include OFF-BROADWAY: Playwrights Horizons, Lincoln Center LCT3, Public Theater, City Center Encores!, Ping Chong + Company, and Rattlestick. REGIONAL: Alley Theatre (TX), Arena Stage (DC), Geva Theatre Center (NY), Long Wharf Theater (CT), Everyman Theatre (MD), Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (OH), Studio Theater (DC), Woolly Mammoth (DC), Yale Rep (CT), Kansas City Rep (MS), Denver Center (CO), Center Theater Group (CA), Virginia Stage Company (VA), Berkeley Rep (CA), Skylight Musical (WI), Dorset Theater Festival (VT), and more.
In addition to Theater, she has worked on Art Installations, Video Projects, Short Films, Audio Plays, VR, Corporate Events, and TV Productions. Originally from Japan, Megumi holds a BFA from the University of Central Oklahoma and an MFA in Sound Design from Yale School of Drama. Member of IATSE Local USA 829.
