Biography

Lindsay Alexander Owen works as a music director for the Washington County Playhouse, Totem Pole Playhouse, Cumberland Valley School of Music and Authentic Community Theatre’s Summer Institute for the Arts. She is also a private vocal teacher at Mercersburg Academy, where she also does vocal coaching and conducts the pit orchestra for the school’s musical theatre productions.She earned a bachelor’s degree in voice and piano from Vanderbilt University and a master’s of church music in choral conducting from Belmont University. Lindsay has directed children’s and youth choirs in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. She studied choral conducting under the direction of Dr. Tim W. Sharp, executive director of the American Choral Directors Association of America. Her post-graduate work included study with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus under the direction of Anne Tomlinson as well as at Westminster Choir College’s summer institute in Princeton, N.J.
