Lauren Taslitz is a lyricist-librettist. Writing credits include: Regretting Almost Everything (Barrington Stage and Feinstein’s/54 Below), You Gave Me A Sheep (National Asian Artists Project), A Statue of Stature (Prospect Theatre Company), Join the Club (Evanston Arts Center and Skokie Theatre), and In My Book (Coastal Carolina University).
In development: Mimosa, (First Level Winner, NAMT 15 Minute New Musical Challenge, 2020); Bak Chang (Commission, The 5thAvenue Theatre, Seattle), The Quantification of Relative Human Insignificance (Finalist, Sigworks 2016), For the Birds, and After They’ve Gone. Lauren is a 2020 MacDowell Fellow. Her work with composer Danny Ursetti was to be featured in the Broadway’s Future Songbook series at Lincoln Center in April 2020.
Lauren has participated in residencies at Goodspeed, The Catwalk Institute, Barrington Stage and The 5th Ave Theatre in Seattle. She is currently a teaching artist at Michigan State University, and has also been at teaching artist at Coastal Carolina University. Her work has been performed at Joe’s Pub, Lincoln Center, NYTB and New York and Chicago venues. She has an MFA from NYU Tisch, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a BA from Princeton University.
