Lauren Katz
Biography
Lauren Katz is a lyricist, dramatist, and singer-songwriter. She is currently a student in NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, concentrating in Lyrics/Book. She received her Bachelor's degree in Theatre and English with a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University.
She was the first ever Writing Coordinator of Northwestern's 88th Annual Waa-Mu Show, "For the Record." "For the Record" was advertised on The New York Times events page, written about in the Chicago Tribune, and selected for The New York Musical Festival. Additionally, through the American Music Theatre Project, Lauren was a Writing Assistant and Dramaturg for Finn Anderson's and Tania Azevedo's musical, "A Mother's Song." She has also worked on the corporate side of Broadway as an Experience & Marketing Associate at Broadway Plus.
She is excited to join the Maestra community and connect with fellow writers and theatre-makers who are passionate about telling new kinds of stories and pushing the limitations of what musical theatre can achieve!
