Lalit Pie Sritara
Lalit is a book writer-lyricist from Thailand. In the Thai theatre community, she is remembered for TIMELINE the Musical which she wrote, produced and performed at her wedding.
After having spent half of her life pursuing politics and business, she decided to finally do what she'd secretly, subconsciously longed to do her whole life: musical theatre. What excites her the most is writing and producing dramedy musicals that explore mental health, social identities of international students, as well as the norms, challenges and possibilities of interpersonal relationships - family, friendships, social, professional and spiritual.
Her works have been featured in BREAKOUT: a Family Drama Zoomsical 2020 (New Musicals Inc), BANGKOKIAN: A Concept Musical 2020 (FahFun Production), the Thailand Creative & Design Center’s Creative & Design Showcase 2022 and the Musical Theatre & Character Showcase 2022 (The Eh with Art). She also wrote for and produced Mahanakhon On Stage (a 54 Below-style concert about life in Bangkok) for Bangkok Design Week 2023.
Apart from that, she has co-written the book for a Rachadalai musical (Thailand's largest theatrical production company) and has written lyrics for a musical film being developed in LA, which got to the semi-finals of Sundance’s Development Track.
She holds a BA Philosophy from University College London (UCL) and MSt Entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge, and is currently in the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
