Karina Stribley
Biography
Karina is a Boston-based singer, musical theater actor, and voice pedagogue. Originally from Ann Arbor, MI, Karina holds a B.M. in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A in Musical Theater Vocal Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Karina has professional experience performing in regional theaters, singing in choral ensembles, and teaching voice and theater. Karina looks forward to expanding the current understanding of speech-based musical theater voice training to better serve ESL and international performers.
Karina specializes in teaching the many sounds found in musical theater, from operetta to contemporary musical theater and pop/rock/country/folk. They are dedicated to helping students belt freely, sustainably and powerfully. Karina is passionate about mitigating performance anxiety acquired through unsolicited voice cultivation, and empowering students to claim their right to personal expression. In the past year, Karina taught private voice for Boston Conservatory’s Musical Theater Dance Intensive, co-taught and created a “Musical Theater Triple Threat” course for Boston City Singers, and was a TA for Boston Conservatory’s vocal anatomy course for first-year MFA and MM pedagogy students. At this time, Karina teaches approximately 30 private voice students and is available to work in NYC and New England.
