Karina is a New York City based singer, actor, and voice pedagogue. Karina holds a B.M. in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A in Musical Theater Vocal Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Karina has professional experience performing in musical theater and with choral ensembles. She has a special interest in voice and speech work, and spoken/sung diction. Karina looks forward to expanding the current understanding of speech-based musical theater voice training to better serve ESL and international performers.
Karina specializes in teaching the many sounds found in musical theater, from operetta to contemporary musical theater and pop/rock/country/folk. They are dedicated to helping contemporary voice students discover and develop their individual artistry. In addition to maintaining a private voice studio, Karina currently teaches Singing for the Actor, Advanced Musical Theater and Speech Science at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
