Julia Haviland

Biography

Julia Haviland is an active musician and educator in New Jersey. She is a flutist with the Eastern Wind Symphony, and has worked with Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic, and other ensembles. She has played on Chess, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, and other shows with New Jersey City University and the Cranford Dramatic Club Theatre. She currently is an early childhood music teacher for Newark Public Schools and Maplewood Outside School, where she works towards cultivating a love for music in her students and helping them develop healthy and practical musical habits to help guide them in their individual creative goals. She also teaches flute privately. She has her Bachelor’s in Music Education from New Jersey City University, where she concentrated in flute performance.
