Joanna Schubert

Biography

Joanna Schubert is a Brooklyn-based music educator and singer-songwriter. She earned her BA in Music from Skidmore College. Past and current education work includes music directing and co-writing a number of children’s musical theater productions, founding and leading contemporary youth vocal groups, teaching general music and chorus in various public schools, accompanying choirs, and teaching private piano, voice, and songwriting lessons.

As a singer-songwriter, Joanna performs under her full name and regularly gigs around and outside NYC. She is also an active member of two bands - Barrie and Emmerson & Her Clammy Hands - in which she plays keyboard and sings backup harmonies. Joanna also created and curates the Singer-Songwriter Series at Mirror in the Woods in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
