Jennifer Oikawa
Biography
Jennifer Oikawa is a pianist/conductor, originally from Calgary, AB, who, since 2001, has been based in Los Angeles. Currently touring in the chair of Keyboard 1 for the Mean Girls First National Tour, her touring history also includes the 2nd National Tour of Motown the Musical as the Associate Conductor/Keys 2, who then finished the tour in the Conductor/Keys 1 position in 2017. In the Los Angeles area she has worked for productions at regional theaters as a pit musician, rehearsal pianist, and audition accompanist. Her experience also includes releasing two independent jazz albums, backing up singer-song-writers, music directing in sacred settings, jazz ensemble casuals and a myriad of local gigs. Her background includes training in the classical and jazz genres, as well as a Master's Degree in Conducting.
