Jemma Starling
Biography
Jemma studied at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with a Distinction in Musical Direction and Coaching. She holds a first class honours BA degree in Music from the University of Cambridge (2022). During her studies at the Academy she was Musical Director of 'Carousel' (2023), and was Assistant Musical Director and co-orchestrator of 'Colored Lights: The Songs of Kander and Ebb' (2022). Previous credits include Musical Director of 'Living With Sin' (the Space, Edinburgh Fringe 2022), 'Dogfight' (Brickhouse Theatre Company, 2021), Assistant Musical Director of 'My Fair Lady' (ADC Theatre, 2020) and Assistant Musical Director and co-orchestrator of the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society’s gala showcase, 'I Got Rhythm' (2022).
Jemma was a Leverhulme Artist of Aldeburgh Young Musicians and previously held the role of orchestral pianist for two years in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, where she performed at the Royal Albert Hall in the 2019 BBC Prom season.
