Isobel Bates

Biography

Isobel spent some years teaching music before deciding to follow her passion for Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy on the MT Perfomance MA course. For the last 7 years she has juggled work as an MD, actor musician, singer and pianist with vocal coaching and teaching.

In the UK, she has worked regularly as a piano / vocalist at various request bars in London, and was most recently a Musical Director, Orchestrator and Arranger for Live Business. She is currently the Managing Director for Bespoke Entertainment, creating shows, arrangements, sheet music and both click and backing tracks for productions and guest entertainer acts.

She has taught at HE institutions as a rep. coach, technique specialist, acting through song tutor and group singing teacher.

Isobel has also worked professionally as a Musical Director / Conductor for a number of musicals, including: Jones’s Diary - The Musical, The Full Monty and Rent, as well as numerous cabarets and open mic nights. She has been a Dep MD for the Barricade Boys UK Tour as well as an arranger and trumpeter for The Bluejays UK Tour.

Isobel has completed Estill Levels 1 & 2 on voice, and is currently studying to become a Vocal Health First Aider.
