Becca Schack



Becca Schack is a New York-born, Los Angeles-based composer, producer and songwriter who creates music for film, television, and media. She is the composer of the psychological thriller feature Dark Obsession, starring Blaine Morris, Danielle Harris, and Mena Suvari (Tubi, Amazon). Becca composed additional music for the family drama feature iMordecai, starring Judd Hirsch, Carol Kane, and Sean Aston (Apple TV+). She also scored numerous short films that have screened at multiple film festivals and won awards, including Smashed and Becoming Santa.

Along with film composing, Becca has also been contributing music for trailers, games, podcasts, commercials, and concert music. She has been commissioned by a number of ensembles including the AMIS Music Festival at the International School of Bangkok, International School of Luxembourg, and Melodia Women’s Choir in NYC. Her concert pieces include orchestra, brass quintet, women’s choir, symphonic band, string quartet, percussion quartet, and solo trumpet and electronics.

Becca’s songs have also appeared in television shows including Bones, Made in Chelsea, Dance Moms, The Young & The Restless, and she has worked with music libraries such as APM, MPATH’s Phenomenal Women Series, and CrimeSonics. She has written, produced and performed songs for brand partnerships with Boots 17 Makeup and Bounty, the latter gaining over 20M views on Tik Tok for her song Quicker Picker Upper.

As electronic artist BECA, she has released records both independently and via UK label This Is Music Ltd. Her shows have spanned across North America and Europe, and festivals including SXSW, Sundance Film Festival, NYC Pride, POP Montreal, and NXNE. Over 50 radio stations have aired her music including NPR’s The Essentials and LA’s famed KCRW. She has been featured in press outlets including Consequence of Sound, Galore Mag, and Stereogum, among others. Her work has branched into fashion and dance mediums, curating music for the runway, ballet stage, and DJ appearances.

A graduate of the famed Juilliard School, Becca started winning recognition for her compositions at age eleven at ASCAP's Young Composers competitions and has been a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and International Songwriting Contest multiple times. She studied composition with Samuel Adler and Pulitzer Prize/Grammy winner Christopher Rouse and started forging her own path toward electronic music while studying with multi-instrumentalist / composer Elliott Sharp, blending electro-acoustic elements and vocals with classical instrumentation.

Becca works out of her studio in LA. When she's not composing, she enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family, and playing video games.
