Averie Washington
Biography
Averie Washington (they/them) has been studying the flute for over sixteen years. Throughout the years they have performed as a soloist and as part of an ensemble. They have performed in masterclasses for flutists such as Andrea Kapell Loewy, Nicholas Duchamp, and Valerie Coleman. In addition to performing Averie has experience as a concert manager and as an instructor and has worked with students of a variety of ages.
They received a Bachelor of Arts in music and French from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Music in music education from William Paterson University. Currently they teach flute, alto saxophone, clarinet, and piano lessons and sub with two community orchestras in northern New Jersey.
