Ashley Baumgartner
Biography
Ashley Baumgartner is an undergraduate student at Saint Mary's College of California. She's a split major in English and Design/Technical Theatre and will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2024. She's interested in pursuing a career as a theatrical lyricist, bookwriter and dramaturge. She also has a passion for short story writing, playwriting, and poetry.
She has had a single scene published as a part of a short play in the Fall 2021 "Aria" issue by Luck Jefferson. In June 2023, she had a poem titled "Grim Reaper's Helper" published in "The Skewies: An Award Anthology" by Audience Askew Literary Journal.
In spring 2024, her original 15 minute play titled "Dear Noah" will be presented as a part of "Send it to the Moon: A Circle of Short Plays" at Saint Mary's College.
As of right now, her experience in writing musicals is more of a hobby that she hopes to turn into a career by building a community of other emerging musical theatre makers and by pursuing post-graduate opportunities within that field. Consequently she is a current member of Student Maestras.
