Amanda Lee Morrill
Biography
I'm a drummer and percussionist originally from the southwestern United States (Arizona, Nevada, and Utah). I have over a decade of playing experience at the regional theater level, most of which was accrued at Tuacahn Amphitheater in Ivins, Utah. My credits there include several regional theater premiers (Disney's Tarzan in 2010, Disney's The Little Mermaid in 2011) and one world premier (Disney's When You Wish in 2015). More recently, I've played for productions in the north east, including Passing Strange at Vanguard Theater Company (Montclair, NJ); two summer stock seasons with NCCA @ Jean's Playhouse (Lincoln, NH; 2021, 2022) and a production of RENT at Dartmouth College (Hanover, NH; Spring of 2022).
In August of 2022, I moved from Las Vegas to New York City in order to begin my PhD in Ethnomusicology at Columbia University (researching the lack of racial and gender diversity in musical theater pit orchestras). I also hold an MM in Percussion Performance from the University of Utah and a BS in music from Utah Tech University. Outside of music, I enjoy running, hiking, table top games, watching too much TV, and eating Cheetos.
