Job Description
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra announces audition for PRINCIPAL HORN.
The best qualified applicants will be accepted even if not immediately available. Preliminary auditions are being held behind a screen. Immediate notification of acceptance or rejection is given at all auditions.
NOTE: Only highly qualified applicants should apply.
The Audition Committee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions.
COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed.

Applications received after the due date will not be considered.
Preliminary auditions: Scheduled for April 3, 6, 8, 10, 2023.
Final audition: Tentatively scheduled for May 22, 2023
Please note that those who apply earlier receive information earlier, and therefore have more choice of audition dates. For those who send their resume later, some dates may already be filled.
Employment date: Effective Immediately
Note: All audition candidates are responsible for obtaining audition repertoire from standard excerpt books, purchasable music and orchestral scores. Aside from rental only parts, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will not provide copies of any excerpts.
