Job Description
The Musical Theatre BFA program at Montclair State University seeks an experienced musical director and conductor to serve as the Department of Theatre and Dance's Music Supervisor. Experience and passion for working with students is essential. Duties include music direction and/or conducting for 1-2 projects per year; coordinating guest musical directors and conductors; overseeing hires for orchestras/bands and sitzprobes; assisting with program auditions and season selection; advising students; overseeing maintenance of studio pianos and scheduling tuning; assisting with new work development; and collaborating on curriculum development. This is a 12-month position with flexibility that allows for outside professional work within reason and offers full benefits and a competitive salary. Montclair State University is a diverse, dynamic campus 13 miles west of NYC.
